LXCL:Miss Takes Film Club® is a Houston-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit for filmmakers and the wider community alike. Filmmakers get free access to Writers Studio, Actors Studio, and original productions like Wild Takes. Everyone is welcome at our Fitness Club, Social Hours, and Culture Club. 126+ members. 28 productions. One community, built on trying, mistakes and all.

Storytelling that matters.&nbsp;Right now, somewhere in Houston, a filmmaker has a story to tell and nowhere to tell it. A writer has a script with nowhere to be read aloud. An actor has a scene to run and no room to run it in. A composer has a score with no film to score.That&rsquo;s where you come in. Miss Takes Film Club&reg; is Houston&rsquo;s nonprofit filmmaking community; a federally registered, fully certified 501(c)(3) and we believe every one of those people deserves a door to walk through. Your support covers craft services, rehearsals, crew prep sessions, permits, and location rentals &mdash; the unglamorous essentials that let a script become a finished film. Programs: Writers&rsquo; Studio, Actors&rsquo; Studio &amp; Music Studio&nbsp;This is where storytellers grow. Writers&#39; Studio brings screenwriters together for workshops, peer feedback, and live table reads. Actors&#39; Studio offers training and scene work. Music Studio connects composers and musicians directly with our filmmakers to score original soundtracks. We keep things flexible and accessible by meeting mostly in caf&eacute;s and library spaces, occasionally renting a space when rehearsals call for it. Your support funds the materials, supplies, and sessions that make all three possible. Community &amp; Wellness: Social Hours, Culture Club &amp; Fitness Club&nbsp;This is where we build real belonging, not just a crew.&nbsp; Social Hours bring our members together to connect. Culture Club takes us to plays, operas, symphonies, and museums. Right now, members cover their own tickets, but extra support could help subsidize those outings so cost is never the reason someone misses out. Fitness Club, starting with walk/run groups and growing into basketball, kickball, and softball, builds health and connection alongside creativity. Your support covers the spaces and equipment that hold us together. &nbsp;Honorable Mentions Showcase&nbsp;This is where it all comes full circle. &nbsp;Your support covers the venue and marketing materials that give emerging college filmmakers their first chance to screen work for a live audience &nbsp;and admission is two items donated to the Houston Food Bank or Star of Hope Mission. Every screening we host turns into food on someone&rsquo;s table.&nbsp; Filmmaking and giving back, in the same room. A small portion of every gift also keeps us running behind the scenes, our website, legal compliance, insurance, and marketing. We don&rsquo;t have a brick-and-mortar space; this just covers the essentials that let us operate safely and reach our community. We&rsquo;re 100% volunteer-run, so none of it ever goes toward salaries. We&#39;ve extended invitations to University of Houston, Texas Southern University, Rice University, Sam Houston State University, Lamar University, Louisiana State University, University of New Orleans, and more &mdash; and we can&#39;t wait to see whose stories make it to the screen. After each film, the filmmaker takes the stage for a live Q&amp;A. Every film gets its moment, and every voice gets to be heard.
