Montessori Forest Adventurers fosters a love for nature in children through hands-on learning experiences. We connect kids with the environment, promoting conservation and appreciation for native plants and wildlife.

Join our Leadership Outdoor Adventure 🌲&mdash;a summer program for teens to practice real-world leadership through nature-based challenges, cooperative games, environmental education and quiet reflection in the forest. Guided by Montessori educators, teens make choices, solve problems, and care for the environment and one another.&nbsp;

Leadership Outdoor Adventure

Join our Teen Overnight Forest Adventure 🌲&mdash;a night of guided hikes, campfire learning, and bonding under the stars and trees. Teens explore the flagstaff ponderosa forest and spend the night under the Flagstaff night sky with the support of our experienced Montessori-educators. This program supports our mission to nurture curiosity, independence, and respect for nature while teaching how to set up and camp safely in the national forests of Flagstaff🌿

Join us for a downtown scavenger hunt featuring native plants and animals ending at the Ice House for the Wishcycle to Wonder event with Culture Connect AZ&nbsp;and recylcled art inspired by the scavenger hunt!

Help provide stipends for our Trail Wizard leadership program, and Scholarships for our campers! You can also help us feed and out-fit about 40 people every day - 24 campers and &nbsp;almost as many staff keeping the kids safe and engaged - for the 6 week camp season. One half to two thirds of our families receive some form of financial aid - about $7000 each season. We need your help to make sure camp is accessible to every family. Join us for adventures in the Flagstaff area for ages 4-12 on the third Friday of each month this fall, August through December, and again in March, April, and May! Each adventure focuses on exploring the animals and plants of the given area with a focus on riparian areas, caves, spookiness, birds, or music! Forest Friday adventures are for ages 4 -12 and all supplies and gear (hydration packs, compasses, maps, pocket knives, head-lamps, name tags, water, magnifying glasses, bug hotels, microscopes and mini-books about the riparian ecosystem) are included along with snacks and a picnic dinner. Adventurers are supervised by our adult Trail Wizards and Witches and our teen trail Wizards in Training. We maintain a ratio of 3 to 1 (children to staff) maximum, with several staff members on any adventurer certified in first aid. You may bring/send your own hydration pack if you have one, please let us know so we cna bring the right number! Please do not bring water bottles or tiny backpacks (If it can not hold a 1.5 liter hydration pack along with snacks materials and dinner it makes it hard for the kids, and water bottles get lost almost immediately almost every time) please do not send electronics/phones/screens of any kind.
