Mountain Valor Veteran Services empowers veterans and their families in rural Virginia through community support, outreach programs, and events like Mountain Valor Fest, fostering resilience and connection among those who served.

Mountain Valor Fest 2026 &mdash; Ceremony Supporter Pass Mountain Valor Fest is free and open to the public. Purchasing a Ceremony Supporter Pass, granting reserved seating for the ceremony as well as our event challenge coin, is an optional way to support the event while securing the best seat in the field. Reserved seats are located in a covered area with prime viewing of the remembrance ceremony, where we honor those lost on September 11th and the veterans who gave their lives in the wars that followed. Mountain Valor Fest 2026

Register as a vendor for Mountain Valor Fest 2026, a community event supporting veterans and their families across rural Virginia. We offer two registration options: free space for nonprofits and resource organizations, and a $25 vendor fee for businesses and commercial vendors.&nbsp; Vendor participation helps create a stronger event while supporting year-round outreach through Mountain Valor. Space is limited and advance registration is required. Proof of insurance required. Must provide your own canopy, table and chairs.

Grab a drink, take a seat, and tell a tale. Monsters and Moonshine is an Appalachian storytelling competition benefiting Mountain Valor, a veteran-led nonprofit serving veterans and their families across rural Southwest Virginia. Storytellers take the stage for a 7 minute story pulled from true tales, strange creatures, and local legends. The winner is decided entirely by audience vote. Every ticket includes one vote, with additional votes available for $5 each. Cash prizes go to the top three storytellers of the night: $250 for first, $100 for second, $50 for third. Dr. Cory Higgs of Virginia Tech Appalachian Studies opens the evening with a talk on Appalachian cryptids and why we tell monster stories in the first place. Charcuterie is included with your ticket. Moonshine and other drinks, including nonalcoholic options, are available at the cash bar. Bid on silent auction items, enter raffles, and check out the Sponsor a Monster roster, life sized cutouts of Appalachian legends sponsored by local businesses. All proceeds benefit Mountain Valor&#39;s work empowering veterans and their families across rural Virginia. Saturday, Oct. 24 Doors open at 6 p.m. June Bug Center, Floyd, VirginiaStorytellers are encouraged to sign up in advance. Spots are limited.
