NAACP Flint Branch

The Flint Branch NAACP advocates for civil rights, social justice, and community empowerment. They work to secure equal rights and opportunities for all, emphasizing collective action and civic engagement to address systemic inequalities.

The Flint Branch NAACP is proud to announce its 44th Annual Freedom Fund Dinner, a premier black‑tie gala celebrating community, justice, and the enduring power of collective action. The event will take place on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Michael’s Conference Center, located at 609 E 5th Ave, Flint, MI 48503. The evening begins with an exclusive VIP Reception from 5:00–6:00 P.M., followed by the main program at 6:00 P.M. This year’s theme, “We, The People,” underscores a powerful truth embedded in the opening words of the U.S. Constitution: that the authority of this nation rests not with politicians or the wealthy, but with its people. As America commemorates its 250th anniversary, the NAACP remains steadfast in its mission to secure rights, protections, and opportunities still overdue to many across the country. The Flint Branch NAACP is honored to welcome Lieutenant Governor Garlin Gilchrist II as the 2026 keynote speaker. A champion for equity, innovation, and civic engagement, Lt. Governor Gilchrist brings a compelling voice to this year’s celebration of democracy, resilience, and community empowerment.
