Forgotten Island produced by DreamWorks Animation, the story is set in 1990s in the Philippines and follows two best friends who accidentally stumble into a magical realm filled with mythical creatures and legends from Philippine mythology. The film was co-directed by Filipino-American director Januel Mercado (along with Joel Crawford) and features a star- studded voice cast of Filipino descent, including Liza Soberano, Manny Jacinto, Lea Salonga, Dolly de Leon, Jo Koy, and singer H.E.R.. Forgotten Island explores Filipino and Filipino American stories often left out of mainstream film, and connects them to our shared work for equity, civic engagement, and representation. 🎬 By joining this screening and conversation, you help NaFFAA Region V strengthen and bridge communities across the Rocky Mountain states—uplifting AAPI voices, encouraging voter participation, and building unity across BIPOC communities. Reserve your spot, bring a friend, and be part of this ongoing story. 🌏
