Explore rhythm and craft at our Motor Skills Development Workshop. Warm up your wrist and hand coordination in a dance introduction to South Indian &amp; Bollywood dance, then settle into the quiet focus of yarn and hook crafting to close. Sessions are guided by teaching artists who center creativity, care, and cultural sharing. 🎨 Hosted by Night Fall Inc, this workshop invites all experience levels to learn, connect, and add your own texture to our community-based art. Please use this form to reserve your spot and share any access needs. 💫 About the Artists:&nbsp; Layavinyasa is a woman-led organization that builds bridges between people of different cultures and forges new paradigms using Indian art forms. Through the medium of dance and music, Layavinyasa collaborates with artistes of various genres to create a tapestry of productions that engage and educate audiences on diversity, inclusivity and other topics &ndash; all of which draw the community closer. Devonte Kunzika is a 26-year-old Angolan-American queer and non-binary local artist. He opened up his artist shop Kitoko Blooms (kitoko meaning &ldquo;beauty&rdquo; in Lingala) after teaching themselves how to crochet 4 years ago. They offer fiber art creations from flowers, wearables, and plushies as well as paintings and original poetry zines.

Mothers Day Yoga + Paint 🧘&zwj;♀️🎨 is a gentle afternoon of movement and creativity hosted by Night Fall Inc, celebrating the mothers, mother-figures, mothers past and of the future who nourish us. Begin with guided yoga suitable for all levels, then ease into a relaxed painting session where you&rsquo;ll paint a still life on canvas or sunhat to take home.&nbsp; About the yoga instructor: Ysanne is a classically trained jazz vocalist and teaching artist blending music, storytelling, and embodied practice. A graduate of Dean College, she became a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT) in 2022, using yoga for healing and community care. Her story-driven performances center on hope, love, and connection. Offstage, she works across Connecticut with organizations like The Bushnell, YWCA New Britain, and ASAP!, offering arts and yoga programs that connect breath, body, and presence. About the paint host: Melinda L. Johnson is a local hat maker and visual artist. Specializing in mixed medium wood carvings that portray the Black experience. As head milliner at THE Hat House she specializes in hat restoration and customization. Join her for a relaxing afternoon hat paint session. 🎉 Excitement is in the air! Get ready to be part of something extraordinary at Night Fall Inc&#39;s first event of the Making &amp; Moving series: Mariposas de carton🎉&nbsp; Learn to make your own upcycled butterfly wings to wear to outdoor events all summer long and bring to our next production in a Hartford park this fall. Add paint, glitter, reflective paper, ribbon and more at this hands on event in studio with Helen from Helena&#39;s Casita. Helen Martinez is a first-generation Latina creative, community builder, and the founder of Helena&rsquo;s Casita&mdash;a community-centered group rooted in culture, creativity, and connection. Through her work, Helen creates intentional spaces where people can slow down, express themselves, and feel a sense of belonging. Helena&rsquo;s Casita hosts creative workshops, cultural events, and community gatherings that center storytelling, accessibility, and collective care. From friendship bracelets and hands-on art experiences to seasonal celebrations like D&iacute;a de Muertos, each event is designed to feel warm, welcoming, and deeply rooted in tradition&mdash;like being in a casita surrounded by community.

Mariposa Workshop

Fatherhood Manologues Workshop invites fathers, father figures, and those with a father story to tell to step into the creative circle and share real stories from their lives. In partnership with Night Fall Inc, this workshop nurtures honest voices that reflect Hartford&rsquo;s strength, humor, and everyday moments. ✨ Together, we&rsquo;ll explore writing and performance in a supportive space, with guidance from Abdul. 🍂Open to all gender expressions. This program is funded in part by National Arts Strategies with support from the Barr Foundation and Greater Hartford Gives Foundation. All donations support Night Falls mission and creative studio.&nbsp;
