Our MissionThe Nokota Horse Conservancy® exists to ensure the survival of the historically significant and endangered Nokota® breed. Our mission is to continue the breeding program to preserve and protect their genetics and to engage in educational outreach that advances an appreciation of the importance of the Nokota® horse and the need to sustain their existence for future generations. With 120 horses in our herd, the NHC owns the largest herd of full foundation Nokota® horses in the world. We are so excited to expand our breeding program this summer, with the specific objective of making the dream of owning a Nokota® at an accessible price a reality. We also strive to strengthen our relationships with private breeders as we firmly believe that doing so will help the breed not just survive but also to thrive.
