Northeast Michigan Community Partnership Inc fosters collaboration to enhance mental health and criminal justice systems. They aim to improve community well-being through strategic initiatives and support networks, ensuring accessible resources for all.

safeTALK is a practical, 3.5-hour suicide prevention workshop that prepares participants to notice when someone may be thinking about suicide, talk with them, and connect them to skilled help. Hosted in partnership with Alcona Community Schools, this session supports our mission to build healthier communities through education and prevention. Participants will learn clear, easy-to-follow steps, practice real-world scenarios, and leave with tools they can use at school, at work, and at home. Most people thinking about suicide do not want to die, but they need support in choosing to stay alive. No prior training is required to attend safeTALK, just a willingness to make a difference. This training is open to anyone age 15 and older and is currently available at no cost. Please register below to reserve your seat; space is limited. Ticket printout is not required. A&nbsp;stipend is available for area school staff and board members. Please contact Partners in Prevention for details. A $25 e-gift card will be emailed after completion of both the training and post-workshop evaluation. The e-gift card is available to participants who do not receive the stipend. Please note: This may be the final opportunity for the Alcona County community to attend safeTALK at no cost, as grant funding is expected to run out at the end of September 2026.

FASD Learning Options offers practical, research-based training on fetal alcohol spectrum disorders for people who care for, teach, or serve children and adults. 🧠 In this session, you&rsquo;ll learn how FASD can affect behavior, communication, and learning, and explore realistic strategies that support safety, connection, and resilience. Partners in Prevention is here to help you build skills, ask questions, and leave with tools you can use right away. 🤝

Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) trains adults to recognize, understand, and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges in young people. Join us in Presque Isle for this interactive course led by Partners in Prevention. You will learn a practical action plan, practice real‑life scenarios, and leave with tools to support youth, connect them to help, and foster healthier communities in Northeast Michigan. For all adults that care for youth &amp; free to the public. In this fully in-person course, adults will learn how to identify, understand, and respond to mental health and substance use challenges in youth. Participants receive a certification from the National Council for Mental Wellbeing. This course is approved by&nbsp;NASW-Michigan (6.5 credits).
