A Birthday Gift With a Greater PurposeEvery birthday is a reminder that life is a gift. This year, I want to use my birthday as an opportunity to give that gift forward.Oasis Life Ministries has recently had the privilege of coming alongside widows who are experiencing difficult circumstances. These moments have reminded us that ministry isn’t only about what happens inside a church building.Sometimes ministry looks like meeting an essential need. Sometimes it looks like helping a family regain stability. Sometimes it looks like reminding a widow that she has not been forgotten. And sometimes, it simply looks like saying:“We see you. We care. And we’re here to help.” Why We CareThe Word of God gives us a clear picture of His heart for those who are vulnerable.“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress…” — James 1:27Jesus also said:“Whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.” — Matthew 25:40When we serve people in need, we are demonstrating the love of Christ in a tangible way. That’s what the Our World Fund is about.
