The children of Tigray, Ethiopia, have endured unimaginable loss. Civil war claimed more than 600,000 lives and destroyed over 2,500 schools. The conflict and&nbsp;COVID forced more than 2 million children out of classrooms. Today, many students study in classes of 70+ peers, with unpaid teachers, crumbling structures, and no access to running water&mdash;yet they still arrive every day, eager to learn.The Oracle Education Empowerment Foundation, LTD is responding with a mission to rebuild and revitalize the Tigray PK&ndash;12 school system. In partnership with Mekelle University and the Tigray Education Bureau, we are beginning by adopting two schools:<ul data-end="1370" data-start="1077" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li data-end="1205" data-start="1077" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Romanat Elementary School &ndash; Over 3,000 students, ~60 per class, no running water, unpaid teachers, and unsafe buildings.</li><li data-end="1370" data-start="1206" fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Hadnet School &ndash; Struggling to serve displaced families with minimal resources, while nearby high schools have been converted into shelters for the homeless.</li></ul>Our immediate goal&nbsp;is to raise 1&nbsp;million Birr (~$7,000.00) per school to provide urgent necessities, including&nbsp;school supplies, food, desks, mats, and safe learning spaces.
