Oxfordshire Badger Group

The Oxfordshire Badger Group is dedicated to the conservation and protection of badgers and their habitats. Through education, volunteer training, and community engagement, they promote awareness and understanding of these vital creatures in the ecosystem.

An indoor-based introduction to sett surveying and to the signs that may indicate that badgers could be on the land.&nbsp; This will be in The Raymond Room, in The Chalet, in Wytham Woods, Oxford OX2 8QQ. Please note that it is a good 20-minute uphill walk from the car park to the Chalet, so allow yourself enough time. If you are unable to walk up, there is limited parking close by, and we can provide the access code for the gate out of the car park. We will set up in the Raymond Room from 1030 and hot drinks and biscuits will be provided. The session will run from 1100-1300 and will be friendly and relaxed. There is no attendance charge for volunteers. We hope to walk to a couple of Wytham Woods many badger setts after the presentation, so please wear suitable footwear. &nbsp;We will organise the first of our regular sett surveying days, at a different site, to run a couple of weeks later. The presentation will be suitable for all members, and we particularly invite new members to come and meet us and top up their knowledge and understanding of how we know badgers are about. &nbsp;Members who have joined us sett surveying before are also welcome to refresh their knowledge and also to share their experiences of looking for signs of badgers.

Following a PhD in Biochemistry, Matt started his comedy journey in 2012. Matt set about combining his two loves, stand-up and science. Drawing on his background as a scientist, Matt explains science and scientific principles. He makes complicated concepts simple, understandable and hilarious. 100% Badgers is Matt&#39;s 4th show, following 2019&#39;s &#39;Bristolian of Science&#39;, 2022&#39;s &#39;Follow the Science&#39;, and 2023&#39;s &#39;Moontalker&rsquo;.
