Celebrate the next generation of storytellers at the Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival, featuring staged readings of winning plays by talented student playwrights from across Riverside County&mdash;brought to life by professional actors and directors. 2026 Winning Plays: The Author Behind the Happily Ever After &mdash; Allana Beckman (Valley View High School, Moreno Valley), directed by Visionary Director, Keith Hoffman. &nbsp;Cast includes Sierra Barrick, Melanie Blue, Sean Timothy Brown and Barbara Kerr. The Rats of Broadway &mdash; Jason Bulanek (Canyon Springs High School, Moreno Valley), Award-Winning Actor/Director, Chuck Yates. &nbsp;Cast includes Daniel DiMaggio, Loretta Fox, Lou DiMaggio, Doug Sorenson, John Corr, Jeffrey Norman, and Shawn Abramowitz. Look at Me, I Exist &mdash; Ryleigh Sanchez (Valley View High School, Moreno Valley), directed by Television Veteran Actress/Director, Deborah Harmon. &nbsp;Cast includes, Theresa Jewett and Kim Schroeder. &nbsp; Mermaid Story &mdash; Carleigh Rios (Martin Luther King High School, Riverside), directed by Los Angeles Actress/Director, Anne Etue. &nbsp;Cast includes Xuan-Ahn ly Biggs, KAYLA McCARTY, Phylicia Mason and Christine Tringali-Nunes.&nbsp; Join us for an inspiring afternoon of fresh voices, bold ideas, and the future of theatre.

The Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival

🎉&nbsp;Excitement is in the air!&nbsp;Join us for a special fundraising event supporting the&nbsp;Palm Springs Young Playwrights Festival&mdash;an evening dedicated to celebrating creativity, community, and the next generation of storytellers. The evening will begin with a 6:30 PM arrival, where guests can enjoy drinks and hors d&rsquo;oeuvres while mingling with fellow supporters of the arts.&nbsp; At 7:30 PM, guests will take their seats for a special performance of FEAR, written by Matt Williams, directed by Keith Hoffman, and starring Miguel Olivas, Chuck Yates and David Youse. FEAR, won five Desert Theatre League Awards for its staged reading in 2025, is now being presented for the first time as a full production. Following the performance, guests are invited to stay and enjoy a light dinner and conversation, creating an opportunity to connect with artists, friends, and supporters of PSYPF. Your registration helps us continue our mission of nurturing young playwrights across Riverside County by providing mentorship, professional staged readings, and scholarships for student writers.
