Peace Community Media

Peace Community Media is a nonprofit radio station dedicated to amplifying local voices through diverse programming that promotes peace, sustainability, democracy, and social justice, while connecting community stories to global issues.

Join us for Peace Community Media&rsquo;s Volunteer Open House! Meet the founding team and other volunteers, learn where the project stands, and hear about the work ahead as we work to bring Greater Lansing&rsquo;s new community radio station on the air by the end of the year. We need your energy, ideas, skills, and support to help build this important community asset. Come learn more about the project, ask questions, and find out how you can get involved. PEACE COMMUNITY MEDIA is an independent, non-profit, non-commercial community radio station providing a media platform to present local, eclectic, entertaining, informative and educational programming; to encourage and amplify the broad array of voices and stories of our community; and to promote peace, sustainability, democracy, and economic and social justice. Our Vision<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Independent news and coverage of issues of concern to the local citizenry</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Cultural programming featuring local musicians, poets, and other creatives</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Youth-centered content featuring shows created by and for local young people</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Public service coverage that connects the local to the global through consideration of the globally agreed upon UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).&nbsp;</li></ul>During the last few months of 2025&hellip;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">The FCC granted approval for us to launch a low-power FM (LPFM) radio station in Lansing.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">We formed a steering committee made up of the Lansing Area Peace Education Center (PEC) and partner organizations&mdash;including Peace Education Center, Justice League of Lansing Michigan, Refugee Development Center, Crowded Table, The Fledge, Tenants Resource Center, Greater Lansing United Nations Association (GL-UNA), Audio Air Force&mdash;to create an independent nonprofit that serves our community with diverse, independent programming that uplifts local voices and connects us globally.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">PCM began training &ldquo;content creators&rdquo; who will tell the stories of Greater Lansing&rsquo;s people and organizations.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">PCM secured the content licenses necessary to begin 24/7 worldwide streaming.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">PCM achieved its goal of gathering the $50,000 in cash and commitments necessary to establish and equip a physical location for the station and install the signal tower.</li></ul>For 2026&hellip;&nbsp;<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">PCM is seeking 250 on-line donors to contribute a total of $62,500 toward the year&rsquo;s on-going daily station operations.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Through grants from foundations and local program underwriters, PCM intends to enhance the quality and expand the quantity of programing throughout this year and beyond. &nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Through memberships and engagement, demonstrate that this new voice is genuinely a voice for all who believe in PCM&rsquo;s mission and vision.</li></ul> NOW STREAMING LIVE!

Join us at Peace Community Media&rsquo;s Donor Open House! We&rsquo;re inviting everyone who has donated to PCM so far,&nbsp;aka our Founding Members, to see the new space, meet members of the PCM team, and hear more about the station&rsquo;s mission, progress, and plans for getting 105.3 FM on the air. We&rsquo;ll share an update on the technical side of the station build, introduce our new PCM Peacemakers recurring donor program, and talk about the funding still needed to complete the build and support the station going forward. There will also be time to visit, ask questions, and enjoy refreshments with other PCM supporters. Founding Members are encouraged to bring one or two friends or colleagues who may be interested in learning more about PCM. Please RSVP for yourself and any guests who will be joining you so we can plan for refreshments!
