Poetry Online

LXCL:Poetry Online, also known as poetry.onl, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to publishing poetry in accessible formats. Through our web journal and chapbooks, we feature poetry in written, visual, and time-based forms, with audio, plain text, and captioning whenever possible. Our mission is to expand the poetry space to better serve disabled poets, readers, and viewers.

Join&nbsp;<a fr-original-style="" href="https://poetry.onl" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; -webkit-user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Poetry Online</a>&nbsp;for an evening of poetry with Douglas Kearney, Kathryn Nuernberger, Naomi Cohn, and Benjamin Voigt.&nbsp; This event will take place on Sunday, August 30, 2026, from&nbsp;6 to 8 p.m., at&nbsp;Open Book,&nbsp;1011 Washington Avenue South, Minneapolis. This reading celebrates the publication of new American English braille editions of the chapbooks Syntaxed by Cindy Juyoung Ok and Postpastoral by Benjamin Voigt. Set and printed by National Braille Press with support from a Poetry Foundation grant, the editions were created for free distribution to blind and low-vision readers, libraries, and community partners. The evening is a live poetry reading for all audiences. Douglas Kearney, Kathryn Nuernberger, Naomi Cohn, and Benjamin Voigt will share their work, with a special acknowledgment of the two new braille chapbooks and the larger need for contemporary poetry in accessible printed formats. ASL interpretation will be provided. Braille editions of Syntaxed and Postpastoral will be available at the event for free. Pizza and beverages will also be provided. Douglas Kearney is a poet, performer, and librettist whose books include I Imagine I Been Science Fiction Always, a 2026 Pulitzer Prize finalist and Minnesota Book Award winner, and Sho, winner of the Griffin Poetry Prize. He is the Samuel Russell Chair in the Humanities and a professor of creative writing at the University of Minnesota. Kathryn Nuernberger is an essayist and poet whose books include Held: Essays in Belonging, The Witch of Eye, and the poetry collections RUE, The End of Pink, and Rag &amp; Bone. Recipient of the James Laughlin Award and a National Endowment for the Arts fellowship, she is a professor of creative writing at the University of Minnesota. Naomi Cohn&nbsp;is a poet and essayist whose 2024 book, The Braille Encyclopedia: Brief Essays on Altered Sight, won the Eric Hoffer Grand Prize, a Foreword INDIES Silver Award, and an IPPY Gold Award. Her work appears in Lit Hub, Ninth Letter, Terrain.org, and Poetry. Raised in Chicago, she lives in Saint Paul, Minnesota. Benjamin Voigt is a poet who works at Macalester College. His chapbook Postpastoral was selected for the inaugural Poetry Online Chapbook Fellowship; his poems appear in AGNI, Bennington Review, Best New Poets, Fence, Poetry Northwest, and ZYZZYVA.
