The PRSM Allergy Foundation, founded by the Eapen brothers, is dedicated to advancing allergic and immune health through research, education, and community engagement, aiming to improve the lives of those affected by allergic diseases.

Join us for the PRSM Allergy Foundation Charity Pickleball Tournament on Saturday, July 18, at the Mt. Vernon High School pickleball courts in Fortville, Indiana. This community event welcomes players of all ages and skill levels for a day of friendly competition while raising funds for allergy and immunology research.&nbsp;Registration is limited to 72 players (36 teams), so early registration is encouraged. Net proceeds from the tournament (after deducting legitimate event expenses and applicable taxes) will support allergy research and care at Cincinnati Children&#39;s Hospital, helping advance treatments and improve the lives of individuals and families affected by allergic diseases. About PRSM<a fr-original-style="" href="https://prsmallergy.org/" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">PRSM Allergy Foundation</a> is a youth-led nonprofit founded by the four Eapen brothers who have lived with severe food allergies since childhood. Growing up in an environment where they had to remain vigilant about allergens has taught them the importance of safety and awareness. The foundation&#39;s mission is to advance allergic and immune health through public health research, community education, and fundraising events like this one. Tournament FormatParticipants will compete in&nbsp;co-ed doubles featuring round-robin pool play, with every team guaranteed at least five matches. Teams may consist of any gender combination. Players will be grouped into balanced pools using self-reported skill levels, official ratings (if available), and other relevant factors to create the fairest and most competitive matchups possible. This is an independently organized charity tournament and does not currently affect DUPR, UTR-P, or any other official pickleball rankings or ratings.&nbsp; Each round-robin match will be one game of rally scoring to 15 points. The top four teams from each round-robin pool will advance to the championship bracket. Teams that finish outside the top four in pool play and teams defeated in the championship quarterfinals will continue play in the backdraw bracket. The quarterfinals and semifinals of the championship bracket will use side-out scoring to 15 points, and the final championship match will use side-out scoring to 21 points. The quarterfinals and semifinals of the backdraw bracket will use rally scoring first to 9 points, and the final match will use rally scoring first to 11 points. Matches will be self-officiated, with tournament staff available to resolve rules, questions, or disputes when necessary. Both teams must report scores and return balls immediately after completing their match. The finalists in the championship bracket will receive custom medals to commemorate their achievement.&nbsp; Official Franklin X-40 outdoor pickleballs, along with extra drinking water and ice, will be provided. Restrooms will be available inside the school through Door 16. Participants are responsible for bringing their own paddle, appropriate athletic footwear, and any other personal equipment they wish to use. Actual start times may vary depending on match progression, so teams should be prepared to play and remain available at least 20&ndash;30 minutes before their scheduled play window. Tournament draws and schedules will be finalized and published on Friday, July 17, after registration closes. Participants are encouraged to review their pool assignment and approximate match times before arriving at the tournament. Severe Weather PolicyIf the event is interrupted by severe weather, participants will be notified by text message and email, and play will be temporarily suspended while participants wait indoors for the weather to clear. If necessary, any remaining portion of the tournament will be moved to the rain date of Sunday, July 19. If the tournament still cannot be completed on that date, the remaining matches will be played on Friday, July 31.&nbsp; Refund PolicyIf the event is canceled before pool play begins on all days, participants may choose either a full refund or to have their registration fee treated as a donation supporting allergy and immunology research at Cincinnati Children&#39;s Hospital. If the tournament is started but cannot be completed on any of the days, final standings will be determined using completed matches and the point-differential ranking system; no refunds will be issued once play has commenced, as event expenses will have already been incurred. Approved refunds will generally be processed within 5&ndash;10 business days, although the exact timing may vary. Can&#39;t participate?
