The Guam Kingfisher, or Sihek, once filled the jungles of Guam with its song—until it vanished from the wild. But thanks to the dedication and support of many, the Sihek has been reintroduced to the wild in Palmyra Atoll. Now, its call can once again be heard in the world. The dream is to one day bring them back to their true island home on Guåhan.At Prugråman Sinipok, we see a similar fight for our language. Many believe CHamoru is disappearing—that its voice, along with the cultural knowledge it carries, will one day be lost. We refuse to accept that.
