The Queer & Trans Health Collective (QTHC) is an Edmonton-based, grassroots organization run by and for queer and trans communities. Working alongside our community, we empower queer and trans well-being by promoting equitable access to health education, support, capacity building, community-based research, and provider training—so that all queer and trans people have the opportunity to experience positive health and well-being.

The Queer & Trans Health Collective (QTHC) is a grassroots, Edmonton-based organization run by and for queer and trans community members. We work to improve health and wellbeing by increasing access to education, support, community-led research, and affirming care.Your donation supports our core programs, including:Community Outreach & Education: Building connections, reducing barriers, and empowering community membersAffirming Care Alberta: Expanding access to gender-affirming healthcarePeer N Peer (PNP): Peer-led substance use and sexual health supportHEAL Programs: Community leadership, research, and skill-building initiativesInvestigaytors: Teaches community-based research methods while guiding participants to build connections and complete their own original researchPivot: Equips participants with social justice and advocacy skills to collaboratively design and implement community health systems change projectsTotally Outright: Empowers queer, trans, and Two Spirit individuals to use their lived experience to lead and implement community-driven health initiatives while building lasting connectionsResources & Information: Resources for the 2S/LGBTQIA+ community on a variety of topics relating to mental, physical, emotional, social and sexual health. Spectrum Drug Checking is a free program that provides accessible and confidential substance testing that detects the presence of harmful substances. Support Spectrum Drug Testing
Spectrum Drug Testing is a free, confidential program at QTHC that helps keep our community safer by identifying unexpected or dangerous substances and supporting informed, safer substance use. Your donation supports trained peer technicians, specialized equipment, and expanded access to this life-saving, non-judgmental service at community spaces and events.How Testing Works:To test your substances, we use a Bruker FTIR spectrometer, a highly reliable, portable device. Our staff has been certified in using this machinery, and we have Federal Government Exemption to be able to offer this service to our communities! You can find us at community events and at the Pride Center of Edmonton on Fridays from 3:30 PM - 6:50 PM.
