The Rural Alternatives Research & Training Society (RARTS) owns, operates, maintains and entertains community at the Vallican Whole Community Centre.
The mission of RARTS is to support a thriving, healthy & creative rural community, through education, cultural & artistic events, and a centre for the enrichment of rural living.
The Vallican Whole is located in the Slocan Valley – unceded Sinixt təmxʷulaʔxʷ (homeland).

The Vallican Whole Community Centre and the Rural Alternatives Research & Training Society seek to cultivate thriving rural culture in the Slocan Valley, by providing a beautiful venue for community use, arts & culture activities, rural skill-building and community resilience and connection.Our operations are funded mostly through rental income, and we often receive grant support for projects and building improvements.
