It&#39;s an event golfers look forward to each year, and we want you to be there! 🎉 Your involvement in this tournament helps us to achieve our <a fr-original-style="" href="https://safefamiliescanada.com/about-us/" style="text-decoration-color: initial; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;">mission</a> of creating compassionate and caring community for families in crisis! This important fundraiser helps us to provide meaningful support to families across Hamilton and Halton. Thanks to our generous tournament sponsors, 100% of your ticket fees go towards helping families in our community! Join us on June 20th 2025, for our golf tournament! We will do a shot gun start at 1pm and play 18-holes of golf - best ball, followed by a buffet dinner concurrent with prizes and 5-minute presentation! Hamilton-Halton: Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser

We are very excited to invite you to join staff, volunteers, church partners, and others from the community on Tues April 29th at 7:00pm for a training session on Mental Health and Wellness from Sabrena Ball! More about this training: Equip and Empower is a 1-1.5 hour training followed by some time of discussion and connection over light refreshments! We will host this event at Grace Valley Church. Doors open at 6:45pm and we will begin at 7:00pm. We will wrap up by 9:00pm. Participants will receive practical tips and resources for personal growth, highlighting the importance of mental health in overall happiness and life satisfaction. Attendees will leave with actionable insights to support their wellness journey. More about Sabrena Ball: As a dedicated professional with over two decades of experience serving others, I am a registered social service worker and a psychotherapist. My extensive background encompasses working with families, children, and youth across various settings, including accredited mental health agencies, inpatient services,and private therapy. My practice focuses on family cohesion, parent-child dynamics, behaviour coaching, educational challenges, and childhood mental health. I am committed to providing client-directed services that foster growth and resilience. My academic credentials include a degree in Psychology, a Diploma in Community Justice Services, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Autism and Behavioural Science, all of which have equipped me to effectively address the diverse needs of my clients. I am passionate about empowering families and individuals, and I am grateful for the opportunity to make a positive impact. As a registered social service worker and psychotherapist with over twenty years of experience, I am committed to serving others. As churches who have members volunteering with Safe Families, we want to connect and collaborate in our support of your members and our volunteers.&nbsp; This is a time to share resources and ideas to best support the volunteers, but also the vulnerable families in our communities. By slowing down and having a meal together, we create space for interaction and learning from each other&lsquo;s experiences. This lunch is open to any pastors and church leaders across the Hamilton Halton region. We look forward to meeting new faces and reconnecting with familiar ones at our Annual Pastors and Leaders Lunch!

Schedule:6:45: Doors open(We will have coffee, tea, snacks and goodies to share)&nbsp;7:15: Presentation begins8:00 Discussion&nbsp;8:30: Wrap up What is Equip and Empower?Every couple of months, Safe Families Canada - Hamilton Halton will be hosting &quot;Equip and Empower&quot;. This is a night of training and connecting open to the general public but highly recommended for current and prospective volunteers at Safe Families. However, anyone working with people can benefit from this! Some topics have included Grief, Borderline personality disorder, strengthening friendships, setting and holding boundaries, etc. How will these evenings look?The events will run from 7:00 - 8:30 PM. The first hour will be a conversation, presentation or talk facilitated by a local professional (counsellor, pastor, social worker etc.). This will be followed by Q&amp;A with the facilitator. SFC staff will also be available to answer questions, support volunteers more personally, and spend time connecting with you.&nbsp;

Empower and Equip - Poverty Conversation with Winston Bosch

Filled Local: Canada is part of The Filled Gathering, a yearly event hosted by Foster the Family, providing space for moms in the trenches of foster care and adoption to experience worship, Biblical teaching, practical workshops, meaningful connection, and refreshment.&nbsp;When Foster the Family announced that they were accepting applications to bring Filled to local communities, we were thrilled to apply&ndash;and even more thrilled when we found out that we were one of the accepted locations! On May 14-16, 2026 we&rsquo;ll be hosting a Filled Local event at Redeemer University, bringing together moms who are caring for children who have experienced hosting, foster care or adoption.
