Join SCAR Spokane for our P4C Plank 1 Open House 🎉&mdash;a chance to connect with neighbors, learn what we&rsquo;re building together, and see how community power can create lasting change. We&rsquo;ll walk through Plank 1, screen a documentary, then participate in a candid conversation about local law enforcement. Meet the Platform For Change program manager, Alethea Dumas, and Plank 1 liaison, Jim Leighty (Citizen Nine).&nbsp; Platform For Change is a community-driven initiative,&nbsp;your experience and voice matter as we work toward a more equitable Spokane.&nbsp;

Rhythm &amp; Wings is a BIPOC-led variety show celebrating music, movement, poetry, and comedy from artists whose stories are too often sidelined. 🎤🕊️ By registering, you&rsquo;re helping SCAR Spokane uplift BIPOC voices, confront systemic racism through art, and build a braver, more honest community space. We look forward to having you join us and invite friends! This event will help to support the performers and raise funds that will help SCAR&#39;s ongoing racial justice work in the Spokane community.

All proceeds from Rhythm &amp; Wings will be donated to assist those impacted by the Spokane Complex Wildfires.

Rhythm &amp; Wings is a BIPOC-led variety show celebrating music, movement, poetry, and comedy from artists whose stories are too often sidelined. 🎤🕊️ Volunteers help create a welcoming space where Black, Brown, and other marginalized neighbors feel seen, safe, and celebrated. By signing up, you might greet guests, support performers, help with set‑up/clean‑up, or share info about SCAR Spokane&rsquo;s work. No experience necessary! We appreciate your participation in this event.&nbsp;

Rhythm & Wings - Volunteer Registration

Help power SCAR&#39;s efforts to invest in the Spokane community&nbsp;by volunteering at our community yard sale! This event is entirely free to the community - participants can barter &amp; trade their unwanted items, or simply give them away to those in need.&nbsp; Sign up below to choose your shift and tasks so we can plan a smooth, welcoming event for everyone. Volunteer tasks will include: directing participants toward the market, food vendors, and bathrooms, picking up garbage, handing out water from the SCAR cooling tent, set-up, tear-down, and engaging with community members!&nbsp; Please select your desired shift and use the comment box to list any accommodations you may need to volunteer.&nbsp;At the start of your shift, please arrive at the entrance to the 808 building for a debrief with SCAR staff.&nbsp;

Learn how SCAR Spokane challenges oppressive systems through education, advocacy, and community care. Meet the leaders of Platform For Change! We will be screening the documentary film &quot;How to Love Your Enemy: A Restorative Justice Story&quot; with discussion to follow. Refreshments will be provided!

Join us Earth Day 2026 as we focus on reusing, recycling &amp; reclamation!&nbsp;We are hosting a community collage night where we will make art from upcycled books and magazines. All materials are provided! Drinks &amp; snacks will be provided! Arrive ready to engage your creative brain and make art with the staff and community around SCAR.&nbsp;

Earth Day Collage Night

Join us for a Self Defense Class as part of our Bringing Healing Into The Room campaign.&nbsp;This will be a grounded, practical space to learn safety skills rooted in care, consent, and community. This class supports SCAR Spokane&rsquo;s commitment to racial equity by centering those most targeted by violence. You&rsquo;ll practice simple techniques, situational awareness, and boundary-setting, while honoring trauma, lived experience, and each person&rsquo;s comfort level. Please complete this form to reserve your spot and share any access needs so we can plan a safer, more supportive room for everyone. Please arrive early and wear clothes that you can move in.
