Get Ready For ScrapFest!Bring the family to the Westside Motor Lounge on Sunday, October 6 for an afternoon with comedy, crafting, and creative reuse. Admission to SCRAPFest is free to the general public, but we will have pay-as-you-go crafting stations and Scraplanta merch for sale. We will also have a creative reuse market with vendors who use upcycled materials for their art.  Atlanta Comedians, Mark Kendall and David Perdue are bringing back Scraplanta Sunset with a line-up of 4 hilarious comedians who will share jokes to which the entire family can laugh.  Make 'n' Take ActivityWe will have make 'n' take stations with various crafts such as printing dog bandanas and t-shirt yarn bracelets. These activities will be open to all ages, and participants must have a ticket for each crafter. Attendees can purchase tickets for the craft stations ahead of time or at the door. The Comedy ShowStarting at 2pm, we will have a line-up of comedians who will perform acts guaranteed to tickle the entire family! Attendees can purchase VIP seats for guarantee seats in front of the stage or VIP tables for groups of 4.  About the Westside Motor LoungeThe Westside Motor Lounge is located at 725 Echo Street NW, Atlanta, GA 30318. There is a parking lot and nearby paid parking deck. The venue will have a brunch menu along with a full bar.

On February 20, 2018, four fabulous women came together to establish Scraplanta as an organization that would rescue art supplies from landfills and support every ScrapATLien on their creative journeys. We grew from a program under another non-profit into a standalone organization with three creative reuse centers and dozens of affordable monthly workshops. We&#39;ve made a lot of wonderful friends along the way with various Atlanta organizations such as PaintLove, CreateATL, The Bakery, and Southern Fried Queer Pride. Every day, we strive to fulfill our role as Atlanta&#39;s Sustainable Resource, which involves our wonderful staff and volunteers pouring dozens of hours into sorting, organizing, and crafting.&nbsp; Currently, 70% of our funding comes from our retail store operations, which is both a blessing and a curse. We are amazed to have customers who help us keep the lights on through purchases, but it&#39;s difficult for us to reach our stretch goals when we depend on sales to cover the basics. In 2022, Scraplanta opened a creative reuse center that would serve Atlanta as a sustainable arts hub for education, thrifting, and waste diversion. As soon as we started accepting material donations and hosting workshops, we realized we needed more space! The Metro Atlanta Arts community deserves a joyful and inclusive place to de-stash and re-stash pre-loved art materials.&nbsp; We&rsquo;ve tried to make our Tucker storefront work for our staff and customers, but in that process, we&rsquo;ve sacrificed workshop space, turned away donations, and even large volunteer groups because we can&rsquo;t accommodate current demand. We added a second storefront in Adair Park and a pop-up shop in Duluth, but we&rsquo;re still trying to figure out how we can better serve the community.&nbsp; We&rsquo;ve surveyed over one hundred Atlanta artists, teachers, and students, and they all said, &ldquo;SCRAPLANTA NEEDS MORE SPACE!&rdquo; This is why we&rsquo;re launching our capital campaign to open the creative reuse center(S) of our dreams! We don&rsquo;t want to move out of Tucker or Adair Park, and we know there are several local options that are close to our current stores.
