Sea Star's 2026 Auction Fundraiser

Join Sea Star Horse Sanctuary of Carmel for a special screening of Rescued Hearts, the moving new documentary that&rsquo;s captivating audiences worldwide and selling out events on its global tour. Exploring the miracles, mystery and science of healing with horses, this powerful film was born from witnessing an extraordinary moment &mdash; when a 7-year-old child diagnosed with autism spoke their first words while working with a horse. Through real stories, expert insights and emerging science, the film reveals how horses help us reconnect to our hearts and offer us the capacity to heal. After the screening, stay for an in-person conversation with the filmmakers, Dana Croschere and Krisanna Sexton, on stage at Golden State Theatre. You&rsquo;ll hear stories from behind the scenes, and be invited to explore what the film stirred within you and how this movement is growing. Additionally, we offer equine experiential learning and mindfulness sessions that benefit adults looking to create change in their lives, heal and find fulfillment through a connection with horses. Help Us Transform Lives: Human & Horse

Peppy is a brave and beautiful rescue horse who arrived at Sea Star Horse Sanctuary in chronic pain with physical limitations. In the years since, Peppy has been rehabilitated with patience, love and kindness, proper veterinary care and holistic therapy. She has learned to trust humans and express her affection freely.&nbsp; Now as a senior horse, Peppy’s joints have stiffened with osteoarthritis, causing her more pain and less mobility. The sanctuary's veterinarian has identified a state-of-the-art treatment to alleviate Peppy’s pain and increase mobility. Shockwave Therapy is noninvasive and uses high-energy acoustic pulses to stimulate healing in injured or stressed tissues. It also has an analgesic effect while acting on pain receptors. Combined with Equine ProStride, a regenerative joint therapy that supports long-term soundness and mobility, the injections in her hocks will reduce inflammation and protect cartilage. This healing treatment course is expensive and will need to be renewed each year but we are hopeful it provides Peppy with the relief she deserves. We can’t fulfill her needs without your help. Visiting the sanctuary is a relaxing way to meet the herd, make a connection and hear our amazing stories of horse rescue and rehabilitation in this healing place. 🐴 At Sea Star Horse Sanctuary, each tour and event supports quality lifetime care, gentle rehabilitation, natural training and transformative connection between humans and horses. Tours are conducted by appointment only and are available five days a week between the hours of 10:30 am and 12:30 pm. Personalized tours last approximately 90 minutes as you are guided around the pastures to greet each member of the herd. Our suggested donation of $50 per adult is appreciated for tours and other private experiences. Visitors are required to sign a Participant Release and Indemnity Agreement upon arrival on site.&nbsp;
