At She Plus Tech, we are creating opportunities for women and girls to learn, lead, and innovate through accessible technology education, global communities, mentorship, and pathways to careers and entrepreneurship. After successfully delivering online technology programs and reaching thousands of women globally, we've seen firsthand that many aspiring learners, especially those from resource-poor circumstances, still face barriers that online learning alone cannot solve, including limited access to laptops, reliable internet, safe learning spaces, mentorship, and local support. That's why She Plus Tech is launching Digital Gateway Hubs (DIG Hubs) to bring digital opportunities directly into communities.The "$1 Opens a Gateway" campaign is raising funds to launch Digital Gateway Hubs (DIG Hubs). DIG Hubs are community-based learning and innovation spaces that will operate in partnership with, and hosted by universities, colleges, community centres, learning centres, or eligible host organisations, located where the DIG hubs are situated. The host provides a space in their facility for the DIG Hub to operate out of, leveraging on their steady stream of potential candidates.Each DIG Hub hopes to provide women with access to digital skills training, laptop lending, mentorship, career workshops, innovation and co-creation spaces, networking events, and pathways to internships, employment, and entrepreneurship. These spaces provide a tactile touchpoint that will be community-led, providing custom programs for the specific needs of that community while also relying on the breadth of relationships and impact of the She Plus Tech nucleus. By partnering with existing institutions, DIG Hubs can maximize impact while remaining cost-effective and sustainable.For less than the cost of a cup of coffee, you can help a woman build a better future for herself, her family and community. One dollar may seem small, but thousands of small acts of generosity create life-changing opportunities.Our goal is to raise funds to launch DIG Hubs in different locations globally. Each hub is expected to support 500-1000 women in its first year. After the initial launch, each hub will work toward becoming self-sustaining through local partnerships, grants, sponsorships, and affordable advanced programs, allowing more communities to benefit over time.Funds raised through the $1 Opens a Gateway Campaign will support the delivery of programs at each Digital Gateway Hub for 1 year. Donations will help cover learner access resources, technology equipment including desktops/laptops, internet connectivity, curriculum delivery, instructor and mentor support, career workshops, community events, program coordination, and the operational needs required to run impactful digital skills programs.
