LXCL:To share the life affirming benefits of excellent live music and artistic presentations with the residents of New Hampshire, including those in hard to reach places, in order to inspire hope, human connection, and to promote a more harmonious society.

Join Silentwoods Collective for “Quartet Novalis,” an intimate evening of classical and romantic string music performed by the rising star artists of Quartet Novalis. Mozart and Mendelssohn – what could be a more elegant pairing? And yet, nothing here is quite as it first appears. Mozart’s String Quartet in D minor stands apart within its set, its stark intensity seeming to foreshadow the pathos of Don Giovanni. Composed as Mozart’s wife gave birth to their first child, the work bears a striking emotional imprint. Its rawness suggests how profoundly life events can shape artistic expression. A similar urgency permeates Fanny Hensel’s String Quartet. Its expressive depth presses against formal boundaries, as if the music itself resists containment. Hensel once reflected, with characteristic self-criticism, that she lacked the strength to fully control such intensity—an observation that reveals as much about her time as it does about her artistry. Performed with a period aesthetic, that is to say, with period instruments and attitude, these works take on renewed immediacy. Their shared humanity comes into sharper focus, as though, through a looking glass, we catch glimpses of ourselves reflected across generations.

Quartet Novalis at Antrim Town Hall

Join Silentwoods Collective for an evening of music, and comedy inspired by the lively coffeehouses of 17th and 18th century Europe, where artists, thinkers, and provocateurs gathered to exchange ideas, challenge conventions, and entertain one another into the night. This event is generously hosted by Hillsborough’s most elegant and intimate venue “The Emporium”, at 5 West Main Street, and catered by “Olive and Oak”, offering food and drink for purchase. Experience the genius musical writing of Johann Sebastian Bach’s “Coffee Cantata”, a tale of obsession, rebellion, and a young woman’s defiance. Featured alongside virtuosic, and evocative selections by musical pop stars of the 17th and 18th centuries George Frideric Handel, Henry Purcell, Georg Philipp Telemann, and Claudio Monteverdi, Bach’s Coffee Cantata challenges authority and convention with humor and wit as an obstinate patriarch battles with his caffeine addicted young daughter pining for the liberty to enjoy just one more cup. This fantastical evening is brought to life by the award-winning musicians, and team of Antrim, NH based organization, Silentwoods Collective, with beautiful period costumes, staging, lights, and English subtitles. Café Fantasia is led by director and cellist, Andrew Koutroubas, Harlequin and masked-trickster, Jackie Davis, soprano, Carely DeFranko, tenor, Morgan Mastrangelo, bass Daniel Fridley, and performed on historical instruments typical of the 18th century by Silentwoods virtuoso violinists Danilo Bonina, Keats Deifenbach, Nelli Jabotinsky-Herskovits, flutist, Kelsey Burnham, lutenist, Luce Burrell, bassist, Guinevere Conner-Fridley, harpsichordist, Nathan Mondry. Performance Length: Approximately 90 minutes, including intermission Tickets: General Admission –$25 Children under 18 – Free Interested in becoming a sponsor or underwriter of events like this? Café Fantasia

Join New Hampshire cellist, Andrew Koutroubas, to experience Bach’s intimate, and timeless “Suites for Unaccompanied Cello” performed on a historical, gut strung, cello typical of Bach’s time (1685-1750). Through these cello suites, Bach unites varied cultures and styles by including six pieces in each suite characteristic to those different cultures. Each suite begins with a prelude - a meandering, wandering fantasia traversing the many colors, tonalities, and range of the cello. Followed by five dances. Before the performance, enjoy light refreshments while Andrew Koutroubas gives a brief talk about Bach’s life, the time in which he lived, and the varied characteristics and dances of Germany, France, Spain, and Italy represented in Bach’s cello suites. Generously hosted by the Hancock Historical Society, this evening will welcome you to the Orland Eaton room on the second floor ballroom of the Charles Symonds house, built 1808-1809. Home to the HHS Museum since 1903, the house has served as a residence, tavern, dormitory and boarding house. This performance, including the pre-concert talk, will run approximately one hour and thirty minutes. This event is free and open to the public, however tickets are limited, and online RSVP is required.

First, that we are our neurons — billions of cells organizing into coordinated "flocks" that create our thoughts and memories. Second, that our brains are constantly updating and normalizing, which means practice makes permanent (not perfect) — we learn our bad habits and anxieties just as readily as our skills. Third, that we live inside our predictions, not raw reality — which explains both why we ruminate on mistakes and how expert practice works (comparing performance to an internal "blueprint"). Step into an intimate evening where science meets music. The program begins with a pre-concert talk on the neuroscience of music learning, exploring how the brain shapes the way we practice, perform, and experience music. The evening continues with a live concert of Hungarian works by Liszt, Bartók, Kodály, and Kókai, performed by Alexandra Balog, Anita Balázs and Noémi Sallai. Join us for close-up music-making, conversation, and a fresh perspective on how we learn and hear music. Reserve your seat and share the experience.

Altalena Salon presents: A 'Neuro-Classical' Evening of Hungarian Music with Alexandra Balog & Dániel Barabási / feat. Anita Balázs and Noémi Sallai

Join us for the inaugural evening of Altalena Salon New York, presented in collaboration with Silentwoods Collective: an intimate gathering where chamber music meets a space shaped by artistic memory. Hosted in the historic studio of Clara Aich photographer, once a 19th-century foundry, later an atelier, photography studio, opera salon, and jazz club, this remarkable Manhattan space carries generations of artistic memory. In such close quarters, music feels immediate and shared, resonating far beyond the notes themselves. The program pairs Leonard Bernstein’s rhythmically charged Piano Trio with Bedřich Smetana’s deeply expressive Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 15, two works of intensity, lyricism, and emotional clarity. Praised as “lithe, persuasive” (The New York Times), the Horszowski Trio brings international distinction and a living artistic lineage to the evening, continuing a tradition rooted at the Curtis Institute of Music and shaped by generations of mentorship. Your registration supports Altalena’s mission to create immersive, history-rich performances for our community. Reserve your place, invite a friend, and experience an evening where past and present sound in the same room.
