Soroptimist International of Plainview

Soroptimist International of Plainview empowers women and girls through education, mentoring, and career guidance. Their programs aim to build confidence and economic opportunities, helping them achieve their dreams and improve their lives.

Bring your best chili and your best cheer 🌶️ to the Soroptimist Citywide Chili Challenge, a friendly competition that fuels our work advancing education and training for women and girls. Your entry, sponsorship, or ticket directly supports local programs that open doors to economic empowerment—from skills training to educational opportunities. Join neighbors, businesses and community partners for a warm bowl, real conversation, and a shared commitment to brighter futures. Set for the Rotary House in Runningwater Draw Park, teams of up to four people can enter to compete in the Chili Challenge for $50 through Oct. 21. Tickets will be sold to the general public to taste the chili creations and vote for People's Choice. Prizes will be awarded after blind judging by a celebrity panel. Since our event is on Halloween day, we encourage team creativity and will honor one team for Best Theme. To receive a full sheet of Chili Challenge team guidelines, email Teresa.Young@wbu.edu. Teams will be required to provide food for 50 people and cooking should be done off-site and brought ready to the venue for judging at 11 a.m. in a dish that can be kept warm for serving until 3 p.m. Garnishes and condiments will be provided for guests by Soroptimist of Plainview the day of the event.
