Start your journey by becoming a member now!SHGS Membership Declaration and Terms & ConditionsSouthern Highlands Gujarati Samaj Inc.By submitting a membership application and paying the applicable membership fee, you acknowledge and agree to the following:Membership PeriodMembership is valid from the date of approval until 30 June 2027.Membership is subject to approval by SHGS and the applicant becomes a member only upon acceptance and entry into the SHGS membership register.Membership CategoriesFamily Membership covers immediate family members residing in the same household, including parents/guardians and their dependent children.Individual Membership is available to one individual aged 18 years or over.Student Membership is available to full-time students aged 18 years or over and may require proof of enrolment upon request.Membership FeesAll membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable. Membership rights, benefits and entitlements cannot be transferred, assigned or shared with another person.Membership BenefitsMembership may include discounts, special offers, event access, communications and other benefits as determined by SHGS from time to time.SHGS reserves the right to modify, suspend, withdraw or change any membership benefit, event, program or offer at its discretion. Membership does not guarantee entry to any event where registrations, venue capacities, eligibility requirements, safety considerations or ticketing conditions apply.CommunicationsMembers consent to receiving communications from SHGS via email, SMS, phone, WhatsApp, social media platforms or other communication channels regarding membership matters, community announcements, events and activities.PrivacyPersonal information collected by SHGS will be used for membership administration, event management and community engagement purposes.Members must not misuse, disclose or distribute member information obtained through SHGS activities, communications or events.Photography and Media ConsentSHGS may take photographs, videos or recordings at events and activities for community, historical, promotional, educational and marketing purposes.By attending SHGS activities, members consent to the use of such images and recordings by SHGS without compensation. Members who do not wish to appear in photographs or recordings should notify SHGS in writing prior to the event.Child SupervisionParents and guardians remain solely responsible for the supervision, welfare, behaviour and safety of children attending SHGS events and activities.Unless expressly stated otherwise, SHGS does not provide childcare or child supervision services.Food and AllergiesMembers and attendees are responsible for managing their own dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances and medical conditions. SHGS cannot guarantee that food served, supplied or sold at events is free from allergens or cross-contamination.Voluntary ParticipationParticipation in SHGS activities, events and programs is voluntary.Members acknowledge that participation may involve inherent risks associated with travel, physical activity, food consumption, outdoor conditions, venue facilities and interaction with other attendees. Members participate at their own risk.Liability WaiverTo the maximum extent permitted by law, SHGS, its committee members, office bearers, volunteers, contractors, sponsors, partners and representatives shall not be liable for any injury, illness, loss, damage, expense, theft, delay, inconvenience or claim arising from participation in SHGS activities or events. Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under Australian law.Personal PropertyMembers and attendees are responsible for their own personal belongings.SHGS accepts no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged property.Third-Party ProvidersSHGS may engage venues, caterers, entertainers, transport providers, contractors, suppliers and other third parties.SHGS is not responsible for the acts, omissions, services or conduct of third-party providers.Event ChangesSHGS reserves the right to alter, postpone, relocate, reschedule or cancel events, activities or programs where required due to weather, venue availability, safety concerns, operational requirements or other circumstances beyond its reasonable control.Health and SafetyMembers agree to comply with all reasonable directions, safety instructions, venue requirements and event procedures issued by SHGS, venue operators or authorised personnel. SHGS may refuse entry to, remove or exclude any person where health, safety, welfare, legal or operational concerns arise.Code of ConductMembers are expected to behave respectfully and courteously at all SHGS events and activities. Harassment, discrimination, bullying, intimidation, abusive behaviour, disruptive conduct, unlawful activity or behaviour prejudicial to SHGS may result in disciplinary action, suspension or termination of membership.Constitution and PoliciesMembers agree to comply with:• SHGS policies and procedures• Event conditions and guidelines• Reasonable directions issued by SHGS representativesas amended from time to time.Membership Suspension or TerminationSHGS reserves the right to refuse, suspend or terminate membership in accordance with its Constitution and governance requirements.No refund is payable where membership is suspended or terminated.Electronic AcceptanceSubmission of an online membership application constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions and has the same effect as a handwritten signature.
