Spokane Alliance United

Spokane Alliance United empowers community members through training in organizing skills, fostering leadership, and promoting civic engagement to build a healthier democracy. They focus on relational power to address local issues and create positive change.

The reunion will take place before our Quarterly Delegate Council and you are more than welcome to stay for both. Reunion for the 2026 IAF Pacific Regional Organizing Training

We invite you to attend the Friends of the Alliance Fundraiser, &quot;Our Stories, Our Future,&quot; on May 21st, 5:30-7:00pm at St. John&rsquo;s Cathedral. It will be an evening dedicated to celebrating our shared accomplishments and investing in our future, featuring a TED Talk-style program.&nbsp; The Spokane Alliance is a people-powered organization rooted in a broad-based tradition of faith, labor, and community. Together, we organize people and money for the common good. In the last year alone, our collective power led to real wins:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Supported the School Bond and Park Levy: We knocked on 3,000 doors and talked directly to voters to pass the School Bond and Parks Levy generating $240M and $200M respectively for kids and recreation.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Passed the 2025 Community Workforce Agreement: We passed first-of-its kind legislation in Eastern Washington, ensuring our public dollars support family-sustaining jobs with health insurance and secure retirement on Public Works projects over $5 Million.&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">$7.6 Million in affordable housing: We supported funding for new units and housing services, and had a section of city code renamed for our work.</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Trained close to 90 leaders: We equipped them to build public relationships, engage Indigenous partners, and lead campaigns that win measurable change.</li></ul>We invite you to support this work by attending and donating at this event as we work toward increasing our capacity to respond to the needs of our community and help our neighbors. "Our Stories, Our Future" Storytelling Night & Fundraiser

Community members from across Spokane are invited to a Foundations of Community Organizing 2-Day Training, led by IAF Pacific Trainers. This event is designed to provide folks with the necessary skills and knowledge to become effective community leaders and understand the basics of broad-based community organizing. This training is interactive and engaging, with opportunities to practice telling stories, building relationships, and negotiating. Participants will have the chance to engage with experienced community organizers and learn from their expertise. They will learn how to build relationships, analyze power dynamics, identify key issues, and create effective action plans and more. Overall, this two-day institute equips community members with the skills and knowledge to understand the importance of the role of civic society in a healthy local democracy. This training provides content based on the philosophy and practices developed by the Industrial Areas Foundation (IAF) in 80 years of organizing experience.
