Bright Red Pants - A Holiday Sketch Comedy Cabaret

Deanna Jones brings her latest show, A Brief History of Smoking Cigarettes to Toronto&#39;s legendary Cameron House for an intimate and very limited run this November 18-19.&nbsp; A Brief History of Smoking Cigarettes follows Deanna&rsquo;s personal history with cigarettes, and, quite impossibly, THE ENTIRE GLOBAL HISTORY of cigarettes, in a touching and hilarious one-woman show that uses puppets, live music, and video to convey how SPECTACULAR the play will be when it eventually gets funded by &ldquo;Big Tobacco.&rdquo;&nbsp; Sharing true stories, wide-reaching musings and playful audience interaction, this multi-dimensional show shines a light on how one of the biggest and ugliest industries changed the world and influenced Deanna&rsquo;s life. Through the polarizing puff\pull of a cigarette, this play explores themes of colonization, capitalism, and the commodification of a sacred natural resource. We are thrilled to announce that this year&rsquo;s In the Soil Arts Festival has been reloaded and will be delivered in two parts! Part One: Tilling the Soil, June 19 &amp; 20, 2025. Part Two: Harvesting the Soil, September 12, 13, 14 2025. In the Soil Arts Festival brings Niagara and visiting artists together, from a range of disciplines, to provide unique audience experiences. The festival nurtures the creation of new work, encourages innovation and offers intimate and uncommon platforms for artists to take risks, share thought provoking experiences, stories, workshops, installations, and more.
