Don&rsquo;t chuck it - Fix it! No need to book, just come along! For International Repair Day 2026 volunteer fixers from our Repair Cafe and Stitch Clinic are coming together to help you with all kinds of repairs, including:<ul fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Household and electrical items&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Slow running laptops and tablets&nbsp;(please back up your data before coming)&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Clothing and textiles&nbsp;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Tool sharpening&nbsp;</li></ul>Pop in with any of the above. Please only bring items small enough for one person to carry. Unfortunately we cannot look at microwaves. Please note this event is instead of the Stitch Clinic that would normally take place in The Mix&nbsp;on this date (3rd Saturday of each month). Any questions? Repair Day

🌿 Would you like to keep fit and help protect and enhance our local green spaces? If so why not join the Wild Wantage &lsquo;Green Gym&rsquo;, where you can help with practical outdoor tasks to improve habitats for local biodiversity. From gardening to tree planting, hedge care to scything, our regular volunteer work parties help your physical and mental well-being and our local environment. Oct: Elmbrook Court Care Home This month we will be working at Elmbrook Court to improve their wildlife garden. Activities will include creating refuges for wildlife and generally preparing the garden as a haven for wildlife over winter. Light lunch provided.🌱

📢 A special community screening: The People&rsquo;s Emergency Briefing&nbsp;What&rsquo;s happening with climate and nature, and what does it mean for everyday life in the UK? Join us for a screening of the People&rsquo;s Emergency Briefing - an eye-opening 50-minute film bringing together nine leading UK scientists and experts with the latest evidence and why it matters for things like:🌧️ Extreme weather 🍞 Food security 🏥 Health 💷 Cost of living The film is based on the National Emergency Briefing in Westminster (featured by ITV, Channel 4 and The Times) with appearances from Chris Packham, Deborah Meaden, and a range of voices from across the UK. Age rating 16+ After the film there will be an open discussion about what it means for our community and what we can do locally. Seats are free but limited so please book in advance.&nbsp;If after booking you are unable to attend, we&rsquo;d be very grateful if you could let us know so that we can re-allocate your ticket to someone else.Bring a friend, neighbour or family member: everyone is welcome. A great opportunity if:You&#39;re looking to learn to gardenYou love gardening but don&#39;t have much outdoor space at homeorYou just like working with others and enjoying a cuppa and a biscuit in return for your time! No need to book, come along any Sunday to have a look around and get involved.All welcome.

We&#39;re popping up at Cornerstone Cafe each Tuesday 3-4pm. Swing by for some surplus food and a chat! (No need to book) The caf&eacute; will be open so you are welcome to stop for a cuppa or a game of Rummikub alongside.

Don&rsquo;t chuck it - Fix it! At the Repair Caf&eacute;&nbsp;we have volunteer fixers ready to help you repair all kinds of household and electrical items; from toasters and toys, to hairdryers and hoovers.&nbsp; We offer to look at your item for free. If you are able to leave a donation, this supports the time our volunteers generously give, and allows us to run more free events. We are happy to help investigate most items, please only book in items that are easily transportable by 1 person.Please note: we cannot look at microwaves. Booking is required, please select a time slot.Maximum of 2 items per person on each Repair Cafe date, please book separate slots for each item. Please be aware we are volunteers, not repair professionals. The repairers and organisers of the Repair Cafe are not liable for any loss that may result from advice and instructions concerning repairs or resulting from work performed in the Repair Caf&eacute;.

Green Gym - November - Wild Wantage

Bring along clothes or textiles that need a simple repair! The Stitch Clinic is once-a-month bookable session, similar to the ever so popular Repair Caf&eacute;... but for textiles. Our volunteer stitchers will help you give your well-loved items a longer life. Missing buttons, torn seams, tired teddies, pesky holes, worn areas - they can help with small repairs and simple alterations. Love your mend? The team provide their time and skills for free, but if you can, please help us back with a small donation&mdash;every penny goes toward supplies, electricity and tea to keep them going! Booking is required, please select a time slot and fill out a short form(one slot per item, maximum of 2 items per person / per session). We focus on minor repairs and alterations, and can&#39;t take complex things such as bridal items.Zippers can be tricky; if you&#39;d like to bring an item with a zip issue please send us a picture to wantagemix@gmail.com While we&rsquo;ll do our very best, all repairs are undertaken at the owner&rsquo;s risk. Please ensure items are washed and clean before bringing them in.
