Take Up Productions operates the Trylon Cinema, a nonprofit dedicated to showcasing independent and classic films, fostering community engagement, and promoting the art of cinema through diverse programming and educational initiatives.

At the Trylon Cinema, we constantly hear about new 4K movie restorations, but all of the 4K projector models were built for multiplex installations with much larger auditoriums. Those projectors put out too much light for our uses, and frankly, were too physically huge and heavy to fit in our booth alongside our treasured 35mm projectors. A few months ago, Christie released the model 4415m, a projector made for a theater our size, and with our 2K projector going on 12 years old, the time is right for us to upgrade. This is a pretty significant project, the total cost is in the area of $80,000. We&#39;ve been saving for the past few years, and we&#39;ve got it mostly covered.
