LXCL:The Chinook Fund supports charitable organizations providing services, programming, education, and support for and about the 2SLGBTQIA+ community. We have two endowment funds established to provide ongoing long-term funding. All donations are deposited with and managed by The Calgary Foundation’s Chinook Fund for Gender and Sexual Diversity or the Chinook Fund for the Arts. The Chinook Fund proudly presents&nbsp;The Lavender Lounge. Join us on Thursday, August 27 at Heritage Park for an unforgettable evening celebrating the rich history of queer voices, resilience, and expression. The evening begins with a scenic cruise aboard the historic S.S. Moyie on the Glenmore Reservoir, followed by an intimate cabaret performance at the charming Wainwright Hotel. Step back nearly a century to the vibrant nightlife of Prohibition-era New York, where gender expression flourished and the city&#39;s legendary Queer Bars became gathering places for groundbreaking drag performers, singers, comedians, and entertainers. Against all odds, these artists created spaces of joy, courage, and community, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire queer culture today. Hosted by award winning drag comedienne and entertainer, Lilith Fair, The Lavender Lounge draws inspiration from this remarkable chapter of LGBTQ+ history through music, storytelling, humour, and cabaret. Accompanied by Daniel Belland on piano, the evening also features special guest performances by drag legend Argentina Hailey, burlesque performer Basel Blu, and celebrated acrobat Master Gerardo. Featuring excerpts from &quot;The Pansy Cabaret&quot; as researched and directed by award-winning playwright and queer historian Darrin Hagen, The Lavender Lounge celebrates the resilience, creativity, and fearless self-expression that helped shape the path to Pride. Chinook Fund Lavender Lounge

Join us for walk through Calgary&#39;s downtown and learn about its 2SLGBTQIA+ history. &nbsp; Our Gay History Walk will be guided by Kevin Allen. The walk will start and end at the Hyatt Regency Calgary. &nbsp;After a 60-minute walk through the downtown area we will stop for a refreshment and a bite to eat at Thomson&#39;s Kitchen &amp; Bar at the Hyatt.
