Drawn from the celebrated diaries of Sir Cecil Beaton—photographer, designer and one of the twentieth century's most fascinating cultural figures—Richard Stirling brings Beaton's sparkling wit, sharp observations and wonderfully acerbic humour vividly to life. Blisteringly funny, stylish and deeply entertaining, the performance offers an intimate glimpse into a remarkable world of royalty, fashion, theatre and high society. Through Beaton's own words we encounter an extraordinary cast of characters, from The Queen Mother, Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn to Truman Capote, while discovering the brilliance, charm and contradictions of Beaton himself. Set at the magnificent Houghton Hall, the evening begins with a reception of wine and canapés from 6.30 pm, followed by the performance at 7.30 pm. Tickets: £60 per personPlaces are strictly limited to just 120 guests, so early booking is strongly recommended. Proceeds from the evening will support the work of the Coxford Group of Parishes with Toftrees and the Norfolk Churches Trust.
