Acclaimed sopranos Aura Veruni and Lila Khazoum are joined by pianist Daniel Lockert to perform diabolical scenes from&nbsp;Idomeneo, Macbeth, The Magic Flute, Anna Bolena, Hamlet, and&nbsp;Lucia di Lammermoor; with costumes by designer&nbsp;Marina Polakoff&nbsp;and props to help with the storytelling. An afternoon of music with baritone Efra&iacute;n Sol&iacute;s featuring a new commission by composer Juan Sebasti&aacute;n Cardona Ospina highlighting the story of Andry Hern&aacute;ndez Romero. Praised for his&nbsp;&quot;theatrical charisma and musical bravado&quot;, baritone&nbsp;Efra&iacute;n Sol&iacute;s recently made his Metropolitan Opera debut as Salvador Dal&iacute; in the world premiere of The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay. A graduate of San Francisco Opera&#39;s Merola Program and Adler Fellowship, he comes to Festival Opera for a special performance of favorites from the opera and art song repertoire. The centerpiece of this program will be the premiere of Festival Opera&rsquo;s new commission of a song cycle by Juan Sebasti&aacute;n Cardona Ospina&nbsp;with libretto by&nbsp;Michael Colbruno, lifting up the voice of Andry Hern&aacute;ndez Romero, the gay makeup artist wrongfully deported to the notorious CECOT prison in El Salvador.
