Dear Friend,We are writing you to share an opportunity that is very close to our hearts and invite you to partner with us in the work being done in Bungoma, Kenya.For several years, we have been supporting Pastor Moses and his ministry in Bungoma, where they faithfully care for orphans and widows who are living in very difficult conditions. What began as helping to meet urgent needs has grown into a vision for something much greater — creating a permanent place where these vulnerable children and widows can find stability, hope and a future.Currently, many of the children and widows are spread across different locations. Through God’s provision and the generosity of supporters, a downpayment has been made and land has been secured in a better safer region where we plan to build a new orphanage, a school, and space for agricultural farming. Our vision is to create a sustainable community where children can be cared for, educated, and given a real chance for a meaningful future, while widows are supported and empowered as well.The farming and agricultural development is especially important since it will help provide food for both the widows and orphans, helping the ministry become more self-sustaining for years to come.We are now stepping into Phase I, and we are prayerfully asking others to stand with us. In phase I, our goal is to raise $300,000 to pay off the remaining balance on the 10 acres of land, approximately $65,000 and to purchase a 6-bedroom missions house located near the land for $209,000. The missions house will serve as a base for Pastor Moses, ministry leaders, and visiting missionaries to work from as construction begins on the new property. Once this is complete, we will move onto Phase II, building the children's dormitories and school.
