LXCL:The KENNA Foundation unites communities to remove barriers for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. We enrich lives through healthcare, essential resources, and meaningful support regardless of financial resources; empower families by helping navigate complex systems and reducing caregiver burnout; and transform healthcare delivery and access by becoming the trusted connection to comprehensive, compassionate care and support.

The KENNA Foundation invites you to join us for our 2nd Annual KENNA Awards Dinner;&nbsp;an evening of gratitude, recognition, and community. Each year, this special gathering brings together the people who make The KENNA Foundation&#39;s work possible and gives us an opportunity to celebrate those whose service, generosity, and commitment strengthen our community. During the evening, we will present our annual KENNA Awards and share stories that reflect the people and families at the heart of our mission. This inclusive, family-friendly car show benefits three local area nonprofits serving individuals with developmental disabilities, providing programs and support that improve access, care, and quality of life. This symbolism is rooted in the life cycle of the butterfly, which undergoes a profound metamorphosis&mdash;from a caterpillar to a chrysalis and finally emerging as a butterfly. This process represents personal growth, change, and the ability to overcome challenges. At The KENNA Foundation, we support the transformation, growth, and ability of individuals with developmental disabilities by fostering empowerment, independence, and access to resources. This year, we invite you to join us for a heartfelt virtual butterfly release, celebrating the strength and resilience of individuals living with developmental disabilities in our community while honoring the cherished memories of those who have passed.&nbsp; Proceeds from the event will help fund our efforts to transform the lives of individuals with developmental disabilities in Colorado. No live butterflies will be released during this event. *The winner will be picked by at random. Amount of the cash prize will be a minimum of $25.00 not to exceed 5% or $5,000.00 whichever is greater. Additional prizes may be awarded at The KENNA Foundation&#39;s discretion.*</div>

Mason was born with Hypoxic Ischemic Encephalopathy &mdash; a lack of oxygen and blood flow at birth that caused severe brain damage. From his first days in the NICU, we knew our lives would look different than we imagined, and we committed to facing every challenge together. Now six years old, Mason is fully dependent on caregivers, uses a wheelchair, and requires frequent hospitalizations &mdash; in 2025 alone, we spent one to two weeks nearly every month admitted to Children&rsquo;s Hospital. His medical needs are constant, and safe transportation is essential. Right now, safely loading Mason into our SUV requires multiple transfers in all weather conditions. I must unbuckle him from his wheelchair, lift his 40-pound body into an adaptive car seat, then collapse and wedge his wheelchair into the back &mdash; often in freezing temperatures or on icy pavement. I&rsquo;ve slipped more times than I can count, and my greatest fear is falling while holding him. This summer, Mason will undergo open-heart surgery, and for two months afterward I will not be allowed to lift him under his arms &mdash; making our current vehicle setup unsafe and unrealistic during his recovery. A wheelchair-accessible vehicle would allow Mason to safely roll in and secure directly in his medically approved wheelchair, eliminating dangerous transfers and reducing his exposure to extreme weather. We are raising funds for a down payment on a reliable adapted vehicle that can safely transport Mason and his two younger sisters. Adaptive vehicles are costly, but this is not a luxury &mdash; it is a necessity to protect our son. Any support brings us closer to giving Mason the safe ride he deserves. Through The KENNA Foundation, this peer-to-peer campaign is raising funds to help provide Mason with a wheelchair-accessible vehicle that provides a safe form of travel with his family. The KENNA Foundation is coming alongside a local family as they move into a home that will provide their children with a safer, quieter environment and greater opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, animals, and the things they love. With limited family support and significant caregiving demands, completing this move and preparing the property is more than this family can manage alone. That&#39;s where you come in! There are 3 ways you can get involved and help this family settle into their new home:<ol fr-original-style="" style="width: 100%; box-sizing: inherit;"><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Volunteer your time to help pack/unpack household goods, load/unload the moving truck, assist with cleaning the old home, and building a fence;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Donate/Loan cleaning supplies, packing supplies, yard tools, gift cards to cover gas or food for volunteers, and building materials;</li><li fr-original-style="" style="box-sizing: inherit;">Donate financially for this specific project.&nbsp;</li></ol>Funds raised will help with moving expenses, supplies, and materials to build approximately 150 feet of 6-foot privacy fencing&mdash;creating a safe and secure backyard where their children can simply be kids.&nbsp; Every gift, no matter the size, helps this family begin their next chapter with safety, stability, and community beside them.
