We are excited to welcome you to the barn!Participants will learn basic riding skills, through game-based activities, gaining confidence and familiarity around horses. Each rider is supported by a horse leader, and up to 2 sidewalkers. This is a 6-week lesson program , each weekly lesson is ~30 minutes and tailored to the individual rider's goals and abilities.

Together we will create life changing experiences for people with disabilities! Volunteering with TRA provides the opportunity for a rewarding experience to build new relationships and skills!Our programs require hands on help with horses, including grooming and preparing for lessons, leading horses during lessons, or providing emotional and physical support as a side walker. We also have many behind-the-scenes opportunities such as event coordination and fundraising. No horse experience required! We provide on-going hands- on training and workshops. Whatever your strengths, we can find the right fit for you!For insurance purposes, all volunteers are required to become members of Therapeutic Ride Algoma.
