Annual dues for each singer are $200 and are non-refundable. Dues should be paid by the third rehearsal, or at the first rehearsal for those joining mid-year. The amount is prorated for singers who join the group after the first concert of the season. This fee helps us pay for music costs and space rental. Singers are expected to pay dues in a timely manner. Checks should be made payable to Thomas Circle Singers and be given to the Singers’ President. Dues can also be paid by card through Chorus Connection.If dues present a financial burden, please speak with the Singers’ President or the Operations Manager. We would be happy to talk to you about scholarships and/or payment plans.Note: We use the Zeffy fundraising platform to keep our costs down - they charge $0 to the nonprofits they support for their database and donor management software. Our opening program explores love in its many forms, romantic, spiritual, and familial, through music by Gwyneth Walker, Samuel Barber, Thomas LaVoy, Joanna Marsh, and others. Walker's lush A Heart in Hiding, a 2006 TCS commission setting the poetry of Emily Dickinson, captures love's exhilaration and mystery, while Barber's beloved The Coolin offers a timeless invitation between lovers. Joanna Marsh's powerful Everlasting Covenant expands the theme outward, pairing Dickinson's reverence for the natural world with the prophet Isaiah's warning against its destruction.
