This is a rallying cry to do the work, with passion, skill, and joy. Al Letson is a journalist, writer, and storyteller whose work moves fluidly across radio, television, film, and comics. He is the co-creator and host of Reveal, the Peabody Award-winning investigative journalism program heard on more than 500 NPR member stations each week, where his reporting and hosting have reached millions of listeners nationwide. Beyond journalism, Al Letson has written for television series including Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and reimagined the iconic Mister Terrific in the DC Comics series Mister Terrific: Year One. Across mediums, his work is marked by emotional depth, narrative ambition, and a deep curiosity about people and power. Peabody Award-winning journalist Martine Powers is the executive producer of &quot;The Global Story&quot; from the BBC and was the founding host of The Washington Post&rsquo;s flagship daily podcast, &ldquo;Post Reports.&rdquo; As part of <a fr-original-style="" href="http://transom.org/transom25" rel="noopener noreferrer" style="text-decoration-color: currentcolor; user-select: auto; box-sizing: inherit;" target="_blank">Transom 25</a>, they&rsquo;ll join us in Woods Hole for a special evening conversation about audio storytelling, creative work, and the evolving craft of making radio. Ira Glass is the creator and host of&nbsp;This American Life. A longtime friend of Transom, Ira was a guest instructor at the Transom Story Workshop for many years and has helped shape generations of audio makers. Martine Powers has been recognized by the Online News Association, the Webby Awards, and the National Association of Black Journalists. She&#39;s also a proud graduate of the Transom Story Workshop (Fall 2015). Her work has appeared on podcasts for Audible, NPR, PRX, Snap Judgement, and New York Magazine. Most recently, she has worked as a showrunner on projects including Apathy Is Not an Option, She Has a Name,&nbsp;and I am America. We&rsquo;re thrilled to have Nichole as part of the Transom 25 festival. Doors open at 6pmEvent starts at 7pm&nbsp; Join the Transom Story Lab for an unforgettable night of true, personal storytelling by local scientists. These moving, funny, and human tales about the scientific journey will be told on stage without notes. The show will feature music from local musicians Matthias Bossi and Jon Evans of Stellwagen Symphonette (with special guests), and will be hosted by public radio legend and Transom founder Jay Allison.&nbsp; The Slam is the culminating event of a three-day storytelling workshop for 10 scientists, led by the Transom Story Lab. Come celebrate curiosity, creativity, and the power of storytelling to bridge the gap between science and society.
