TriTogether

TriTogether empowers foster, adoptive, and  kinship families in Massachusetts by providing free tutoring and community support, promoting equitable education and resources to enhance the lives of children and young adults in care.

TriTogether is a Massachusetts-based nonprofit that provides free virtual tutoring to youth in foster care. We are quickly growing and, as referrals roll in, need to make sure we have tutors on our team ready to go! All of us, including the Executive Team, are volunteers and are involved because the mission matters to us. I grew up at Shir Tikva and still come to services with my daughter when her toddler-mood allows. I know how much emphasis the community puts on helping others and mending the world, one small act at a time. I hope you will join us in making school more accessible to this community of students who have experienced trauma and have gaps in their learning. Tutors meet with their student for one hour each week online and cover a variety of topics, from reading and writing to algebra and chemistry to general organizational skills. Tutors only work with a subject and grade level that they feel confident in, and we have a system of supports in place to ensure that each match succeeds. No education experience is required, just a passion for helping others, bringing equity to education, and helping a child, teen, or young adult in foster care be more confident in their learning.

Sharon Palmer and her husband, Andy, started their fostering journey in 2017 and have since welcomed 30 children into their home and founded Nurturing Foster Families, Inc. (Cape Cod Foster Closet), a nonprofit providing much-needed support to foster and kinship families living on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
