Troop 742 empowers youth through scouting, fostering leadership, outdoor skills, and community service. We promote personal growth and teamwork while engaging in fun, educational activities that build character and resilience.

Help shape the year ahead for Troop 742! At our Annual Planning Lock-in, scouts plan campouts, service projects, and adventures that build responsibility, teamwork, and a love for the outdoors. Use this opportunity to talk and share your ideas! ⛺Tell us what trips, merit badges, and community service projects you&rsquo;d like to see so we can build a safe, fun, and challenging program together. Breakfast and lunch will be provided on saturday.

Annual Planning Lock-in

Due to the current extreme heat advisory and our commitment to ensuring the safety of all scouts, we are moving our planned camping trip to an indoor ice-skating event. While we were looking forward to camping, the high temperatures make this change necessary to ensure everyone stays cool and safe. We would love to invite everyone, even if they were not planning on camping (probably because of the heat, right? be honest), to come with us to the Carolina Ice Palace Saturday night. &nbsp; Payment: Please plan to pay for your own admission directly at the rink. Skate rental should be included in the admission price for this time slot. What to wear: Please wear your Class B uniform and ensure you have a pair of tall socks for the rental skates.

Troop 742 is headed to Camp Raven Knob June 14-20, 2026. The base cost is $450 per scout. May Campout - River Rats!

We will NOT meet to carpool. Feel free to plan carpooling with other scout parents/guardians. You will need to arrive at Tom Yawkey from _________ on April 24. &quot;Tom Yawkey Conservation Weekend is an overnight camping experience designed for Scouts and their leaders, taking place April 24-26, 2026. The weekend features a focused program centered on Environmental Science, Conservation, and Nature Stewardship. Scouts will participate in conservation-themed merit badge courses offered on Saturday morning and Saturday afternoon, allowing each Scout to complete up to two merit badges during the weekend. These courses support progress toward earning the BSA World Conservation Award. All participants will also take part in a three-hour, hands-on conservation project conducted on site. This year&rsquo;s project will support habitat efforts for the near-threatened Northern Bobwhite, giving Scouts a meaningful opportunity to contribute directly to wildlife conservation. This event combines outdoor learning, service, and stewardship in a true Scouting environment.&quot; Cost for the campout is $35 for scouts and $15 for adults. November Campout - Poinsett State Park

Location: Camp Ho Non Wah Details: Troop 742 will be staffing the trick-or-treat station at this Cub Scout event. Our role is to serve, not participate. Cost: Staff is $25 a person. This includes meals on Saturday, a grab and go breakfast on Sunday and a &ldquo;Boo Crew&rdquo; shirt if registered by October 2. Payment may be made via Zeffy, Scout account, or cash. Note: We will&nbsp;not be meeting at the church to carpool. Families are responsible for arranging their own transportation to and from Camp Ho Non Wah.
