Dolly was born with pectus excavatum, a rare congenital condition that causes the chest to grow inward, putting pressure on the heart and lungs. As she grew, her breathing became increasingly labored, and multiple veterinary specialists agreed that corrective surgery was necessary. Between diagnostics, specialist consultations, surgery, medications, and follow-up care, her medical expenses quickly added up. At Two Furs Rescue, we specialize in neonatal and medically fragile kittens. While most people think of food and vaccinations, the reality is that emergency medical care, diagnostics, and specialty procedures are often our largest expenses.
