After Upstate Pride stated that they would no longer host a Pride Event in Spartanburg, the Spartanburg Pride Coalition (SPC) was formed to continue an event here in Sparkle City. Fernwood Baptist Church, LGBTQ Theologies, PFLAG Spartanburg, Piedmont Care, Proud Mary Theatre Company, Speaking Down Barriers, Unitarian Universalist Church of Spartanburg (UUCS), and Uplift Outreach Center began meeting and planning. UUCS offered to host the event just as they did for the first Upstate Pride event in 2009. And so Sparkle City Pride is happening on November 7. And we need your help.
