UNWLA Branch 135 promotes Ukrainian culture and heritage through educational programs, community events, and artistic workshops, fostering a deeper understanding of traditions like Pysanky while supporting charitable causes.

Celebrate Mother&rsquo;s Day while discovering the art of &ldquo;Ukrainian Vybiyka&rdquo; (traditional textile printing). In this hands-on workshop, you will learn simple printing techniques and create a meaningful, personalized piece to keep or gift. 🎨 Vybiyka is a technique of printing ornaments onto fabric; a distinctive way to preserve history, to create harmony through form and color.It is a hand-printing technique used to apply ornamental patterns onto fabric with the help of carved wooden blocks or stencils.&nbsp; Your participation supports UNWLA Branch 135 in preserving Ukrainian culture and assisting educational and humanitarian projects for Ukrainians in the U.S. and abroad. 🌷

Vybiyka: Traditional Ukrainian Fabric Printing Workshop

Masterclass : Ukrainian Pysanky for a Cause with BASIA ANDRUSKO Now more than ever it is important to uphold the traditions that have survived for centuries. &nbsp; &nbsp;Join us to explore the art, symbolism and joy in creating Pysanky. You will be guided through all the steps of transforming a plain egg into a work of art.&nbsp;We will apply a series of melted beeswax and dyes to create traditional and individually creative patterns. When complete, the wax is melted off, revealing the vivid colors. When appropriate, students will have the option of turning their Pysanky into unique seasonal ornaments. No experience necessary.Materials (eggs, stylus, dyes, wax&hellip;) and instruction will be provided to make one or two Pysanky, within the scope of the class. Kits will also be available for purchase, so that students can continue to make Pysanky and wax-resist batik-style eggs at home, for all seasons and occasions. Finished work of instructor may also be available for purchase.

Pysanka Masterclass

Join UNWLA Branch 135 for an engaging talk with our guest speaker Prof. Dr. Larysa Didkovska, Ukrainian psychologist, President of the Ukrainian Association of Gestalt Therapy, Rector of the Ukrainian Free University in Munich. Dr. Didkovska will share insights from her work on psychological health, resilience, community care, &nbsp;and explore how the immigrant experience can be reframed as a source of strength rather than liability 💛. This talk supports our mission to preserve Ukrainian culture and strengthen our community through learning, dialogue, and mutual support.
