VERY LÁO.D advocates for justice and accountability for victims of Agent Orange, focusing on environmental and disability rights. They support Trần Tố Nga's legal battle against agrochemical companies responsible for ecological harm and promote community awareness.

Trần Tố Nga is a former journalist and liaison officer for the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam. In the decades following the end to the U.S. war in Vietnam, she established a formidable career as a long-time environmental and disability justice advocate for other victims of Agent Orange. For the last ten years, she has been building a monumental legal case to demand justice, accountability, and reparations from the companies responsible for modern history&rsquo;s first &ldquo;ecocide&rdquo;. On August 22, 2024, the Paris Court of Appeal delivered their verdict on the case put forth by c&ocirc; Nga against fourteen agrochemical multinational companies that had produced and/or marketed toxins like Agent Orange. In the end, the Paris Court of Appeal rejected her case, citing the companies&rsquo; &ldquo;immunity status&rdquo;. To add insult to injury, c&ocirc; Nga was required by the Court to pay each of the fourteen companies &euro;1,500. Currently, there are community efforts to support covering her legal fees - such as this! Our event will explore themes of ecocide, justice, land defence, colonialism, imperial violence, war, and climate. It will begin with a brief about Vietnamese history, a screening of The People vs. Agent Orange (2020), followed by an open community discussion._________ Transparency: Fundraising$1 of your ticket purchase will help with event expenses, while the rest will go directly to supporting Trần Tố Nga&#39;s legal fees.
