Wacousta Cooperative Preschool nurtures curiosity and connection through play-based learning, fostering a supportive community where families engage in their children's education. We aim to provide a joyful, enriching environment for every child to thrive.

Our Mission: Growing Community + Curiosity + Childhood Joy At Wacousta Cooperative Preschool, we believe early childhood is a foundation for a lifetime of curiosity, confidence, and connection. For over 50 years, families from Wacousta, Eagle, Grand Ledge, and the greater Lansing area have trusted us to provide affordable, high-quality, play-based early learning, a place where every child feels known, welcomed, and free to explore.&nbsp; We are more than a preschool, we are a cooperative community where families are partners in learning, where friendships form across generations, and where parents and caregivers support one another in the journey of raising young children. Our cooperative model brings families into the heart of classroom life and builds relationships that extend far beyond the school walls.&nbsp; From imaginative play and outdoor exploration to STEM discovery and early social-emotional skills, we nurture the whole child, body, mind, and heart. We champion learning through play, honoring each child&rsquo;s unique curiosity and pace.&nbsp; Now, as we move into the historic former Wacousta Elementary building (now known as Wacousta Commons), our community is growing, and so are the dreams we hold for the children and families we serve. This new space gives us the opportunity to expand our offerings, increase access, and build a natural playground where kids can climb, dig, imagine, and connect with nature every day.
