We aim to empower students through quality education, community engagement, and the development of critical skills for lifelong success.Our three goals: Goal 1: Better instruction using top of the line industry standard materials to support new tech theatre classes. Goal 2: To reduce the energy use at the high school. Goal 3: To create an attractive rental space with modern equipment.

Your gift to the Light Up the Stage Capital Campaign helps replace the outdated lighting system in the Winthrop Performing Arts Center&mdash;a dedicated space where students can learn, create, and perform with confidence. 🎭 Every contribution directly supports our efforts to replace our old incandescent lighting system with new, updated, and energy efficient technology. This upgrade (approximately 105,000 to complete) will provide these outcomes: - Reduced energy use due to energy efficient LED lighting fixtures- Updated current industry standard equipment for students to learn lighting design techniques and practices- Lights that are able to change color without effort, allowing for much more dynamic and artistic lighting design for student performances as well as for our user rentals. Scott Moreau has been traveling the country playing Johnny Cash for nearly 20 years, in the Broadway shows Million Dollar Quartet and Ring Of Fire, as well as his original tribute shows. &nbsp;Hear Scott recount his amazing journey playing the Man In Black with anecdotes from the road, stories about Johnny&rsquo;s life as well as his most beloved hits and some hidden gems from Johnny&rsquo;s 50 years in the music industry. &nbsp;The show includes songs from every era of his career from Sun Records to Columbia to Mercury and finally the groundbreaking American Recordings. &nbsp;Featuring Folsom Prison Blues, I Walk The Line, Ring Of Fire, A Boy Named Sue, Strawberry Cake, The Man Comes Around and his epitaph, Hurt. This will allow for instruction with current leading industry technology, save money through use of energy efficient lighting instruments, and make our space more attractive as a rental and event venue to outside user groups with superior lighting design capabilities. Tickets are $20 each and will be available at the door the night of the show, unless we sell out beforehand.
