Attention all supporters of historic preservation and community revitalization!  We're thrilled to announce a significant milestone for <a href="https://hastingsfl.org" style="color:inherit;text-decoration:inherit;user-select:auto;box-sizing:inherit" target="_blank">Hastings Main Street</a>: the acquisition of two cherished historic structures – a train depot and a trolley depot – currently situated on US1 North at the St. Augustine Airport.  Our vision is to breathe new life into these buildings, transforming them into a museum and community center that will serve as a focal point for Hastings and its residents. This vision requires collective effort and support from our community. Time is of the essence, as we have until September 1, 2024, to relocate these depots. Extensive discussions with various authorities have led us to the innovative approach of transporting them via barge – a solution that we find both practical and exciting.  This journey entails securing grants and intensifying our fundraising efforts. We appeal to you, our valued supporters, to join us in this endeavor. Your contributions, whether financial or through spreading awareness, are instrumental in making this dream a reality. Just imagine the impact: two meticulously restored historic depots, each with its unique story, serving as beacons of history and community pride. One located near the site of the old jail on Cochran Avenue, and the other nestled along a scenic bike path, honoring the legacy of the original Hastings Depot.
