It’s Growing Time Did you attend the basic plant care class last fall? Whether you did or didn’t, let’s take it up a “node”-it’s spring, and we are ready for growing season.  Learn about transitioning your plants to outside, when to repot and how soil types and additives affect your plants. Spring and summer are a great times to increase your fertilizer, so learn when and how to fertilize.  Bring a plant If you want help w/repotting or need advice. If you didn’t attend the basic plant care class, this class is still for you. Come grow with us.  You’ll make a great sun-catcher garden stake to take home to accent your blooms! About the instructor: Sonya Walker McShan is a South Pittsburg native and current resident of Chattanooga, TN.  Not your average gardener or floraphile, her enthusiasm for plants has been a lifelong interest. Through classes, research, social media, and most of all trial and error, she has become a source of knowledge on houseplant care. Her strength is plant recognition and fitting the right person with the right plant. As a thirty-year healthcare worker, Sonya understands the importance of healing and wellness beyond traditional medicine and found herself using gardening and houseplants as a way to cope in rough times and to boost her energy when she needed a push. Her goal is to help others find the same joy I have found through plants.  AGE: You must be 9 or older to attend and students between the age of 9 and 18 must be accompanied by an adult
