Tickets are free but are required for entry to the event because seating is limited. Donations are appreciated and will go toward supporting this and other OHJA educational events.

Attention all OHJA members! We are very excited to announce part one of our Concussion Awareness and Helmet Safety event series hosted at the DevonWood Equestrian Centre Clubhouse on April 1st, 2023. This event is also open to USDF members who are attending the Devonwood Don't Be a Fool Dressage Show April 1-2 at Devonwood. Thanks to the generosity of Gallops Saddlery, we will be providing hors d'oeuvres and drinks for all attendees. This event is free to all, but tickets are required and seating is limited. Our featured speaker is Emily Kosderka Ph.D., ATC, a fellow equestrian and professor of health and human performance, who will educate us on recognizing and managing concussions as well as returning to riding after a concussion and the Virginia Tech Helmet Study, and Patty Cameron, who will discuss the importance of helmet fit. Gallops will also have helmet fitters on hand to check fit after the presentations as well as helmets for sale so please bring your helmets! We will also have fantastic items including a OneK Helmet being raffled off and all proceeds will go to OHJA scholarship and rider fund programs. We’re so excited to see our OHJA and USDF members there!
