This current-assisted 10K begins at JFK Marina in Yonkers and ends in Manhattan, guiding swimmers past the dramatic and historic Spuyten Duyvil, where the Harlem River meets the Hudson. Along the way, you'll take in sweeping views of Yonkers, Riverdale, the Spuyten Duyvil Bridge, and the iconic George Washington Bridge. The start at JFK Marina is easily accessible via Metro-North’s Glenwood Station or by car, with parking available on-site. For those who prefer to park near the finish, a shuttle will be available to take you to the start. The swim concludes at the Inwood Canoe Club in northern Manhattan with striking views of the GW Bridge. The name Spuyten Duyvil, Dutch for “spite of the devil”, is believed to reference either a doomed messenger who attempted to swim the creek’s turbulent waters or a violent freshwater spring once known as the Devil’s Spout. To participate in this event, swimmers must have previously completed a 2-mile open water swim. This is a non-timed swim.
